Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.

I have some lovely news to share.

I have just received the Liebster Award. The what! you say? The Liebster Award.

I hadn't heard of it until a few days ago when I saw it on http://margyspapergames.blogspot.com/Blog. It was designed to be a blog award in the pay it forward fashion. It is awarded to blogs that have fewer than 200 followers to encourage new visitors and I thought 'what a lovely idea'. Then, the lovely Marg from Margs Paper Games passed one on to me.

All about me

Hi my name is Lesa Bird and I am 50yrs old but feel 38 and I yeild from Kuraby in Queensland, I am single and love it and I am a night shift worker, which gives me loads of time during the day to do some creating.

 

I have been scrapbooking for about 9 yrs thanks to a friend who dragged me to her local scrapbooking shop for a class, and the rest is history. I think my style is clean with a touch of romance in it and I love to see my photographs and memories come together in a whole new way.

As I am currently renovating my house, my projects will reflect that in their photography along with my recent holiday to Africa and Egypt and of course my 3 beautiful nieces.

 

I am so happy to have been chosen for the first Couture Creations Design Team, Thank you Couture Creations I cannot wait to get started. Please join me on my journey over the next 12 months.

Couture Creations Design Team Application Round 2

The excitement of recieving a call for round 2 of the Couture Creations Design Team has turned into a day of inspiration and creating and it all started with a sketch that I designed especially for this project. I hope you enjoy my design.

 

 

 

 

Just incase your inspired!!! Here is a step by step

 

Cut 5x12 inch strip of core dinations Black Magic cardstock and emboss using Couture Creations Fresh and Fun Peacock Pleasure Embossing folder by simply embossing from both ends. Roughly sand your embossed image as above. Adhere to bottom of base cardstock inserting small piece of pattern paper of right hand corner and folding back cardstock to reveal a peekaboo secure with brad.

 





Adhere ribbon to layout to disguise join in cardstock add bow at right hand side. Cut 2 artisan shapes from pattern paper using Couture Creations Nesting Dies Victorian Squares and sand edges with Couture Creations Sanding Block. Adhere to layout of centre so that it will be visible behind intended photo.

 

Mat photograph and adhere to layout in desired position. Cut 4 flowers from pattern paper with Couture Creations Endless Dreams Decorative Die Enlightenment. Take first flower and gather together to form bud, adhere to second flower and repeat to form second layer. Repeat until all flowers are attached. Fold pointed bottom on flower to flatten and set aside.

 

Add rhinestone flourishes into desired position. Take 2x1.5” circles of metal shim and emboss with Couture Creations Emboss Folder Entangle. Arrange  flowers and shim at corner of project as desired.

 

 

Emboss chipboard title with Couture Creations Emboss Folder Entangle and ink with a light shade of ink completely. Highlight raised image  with darker shade of ink and wet emboss with clear embossing powder. Adhere to layout in desired position using CoutureCreations Foam Mounting Tape. Distress edge of layout for a final touch.

Round 2 LO

Well l finished my round 2 layout for Couture Creations DT today, just need to edit pic and do a few detail instructions, should have this all done and load tomorrow, fingers crossed l don't screw it up.

Round 2

Well it seem the I made it through to round 2 of couture creation design team call, excited and scary all at once.
Sitting here drawing up a sketch and ideas to use on my round 2 layout, then of to The craft room on Tuesday to pull it all together.
